With about a thousand of riders and drivers, the 2008 Equirando was a great popular success � and was coverage a lot by media - with near 60 foreign riders participating. Two big teams came from Belgium and Germany and they were awarding by FITE during the Gala party of Saturday. FITE is delighted of this success and congratulate France, the organisers and all the entrants.
Text of the FITE President for the French Equirando
The Equirando is one of the most important event in the international equestrian tourism. The aim of FITE is always to facilitate and encourage the crossing of borders, so, an action to the NETO to facilitate the coming of foreign riders was leading by FITE and the organisation committee: low price of the entry fee and a special award from FITE. The result is the coming of 12 teams from Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Spain, nearly 60 riders. We should note that the chief of the German team is participating to Equirando since 1993. Awards were giving during the gala meal by the President of FITE: ceramic cup for the most important team, from Belgium, tee shirts and FITE souvenirs to the German team, also a large team. In the same time, Christiane Rincé and Chloé Blanchard received buckle of belt from Via Francigena in order to thank them for their great work within the organisation committee.
FITE would like to thank very much the French organisers for their action for equestrian tourism. France is always an example.
Equirando is a convivial and popular event. Equirando is a proof of the dynamic of the equestrian tourism, of the faithfully of the riders, of the positive impact within the equine industry. Political and equestrian representatives came to Châteaubriand!
We really wish that the soul of Equirando continue and maybe grow-up!
